About Me
Stepping out of employment to build a business that fills a real gap has taken me on a powerful journey of discovery. I have designed a focused menu of services that not only draws on my experience, but more importantly aligns with my energy, curiosity and passion, alongside a deep interest in modern ways of working. The result is a distinctive, forward-thinking offer that delivers real change.
My approach is shaped by senior HR leadership experience gained at Chanel, Tesco and M&S, where I worked closely alongside CEOs and leaders to support growth, navigate change and manage performance in cost-constrained settings. Decisions needed to stand up commercially as well as culturally, and that experience continues to shape how I work today.
Much of my work has also been with leadership teams operating in PE-backed or investor-led environments, where clarity of performance, pace of decision-making and accountability really matter. In these contexts, people strategy cannot sit apart from commercial reality and HR needs to actively support value creation rather than slow it down.
I am an HR practitioner by profession and by grounding. I value strong foundations, sound judgement and approaches that are robust, proportionate and commercially credible. Where my work often differs from more traditional HR models is in its focus. I am less interested in activity for its own sake and more interested in impact. In how decisions land, how behaviour changes and how performance actually improves.
Throughout my career, I have seen how HR can add enormous value when it is closely aligned to the commercial pressures a business is operating under. I have also seen how easily it can become overly process-led or positioned as a barrier rather than an enabler. My work actively challenges that dynamic by keeping performance, accountability and outcomes at the centre of everything I do.
My approach is informed by a strong understanding of human behaviour and how habits form and change at work.

About The Inside Track
Transforming leadership from the inside, out.

No one told me how difficult it would be to decide on a name for my business! A name that is vaguely in tune with my approach and who I am but also a name that successfully groups together, what I do!
I had lots of funny, interesting name ideas but eventually settled on the rather simple (boring even!) “The Inside Track”.
Why The Inside Track
Being on the inside track is an advantage - it’s the quickest and easiest route to get to your desired destination.
It is a simple name and that’s how I like things, simple and doable.
“Inside” represents a cosy safe space. More deeply what is going on inside you as a human being will determine your experience of being you – how you feel, how you act and how you show up to others.
A track is an uneven pathway which with a bit of work becomes more navigable. I work with leaders to build these pathways through habits and behaviour change.
I am really excited to partner with you!
Helen
